BACKGROUNDER – Creative Nova Scotia
The arts and culture sector in Nova Scotia generates about $1.2 billion per year in revenues and employs about 28,000 people. Three years ago the Culture Division of the Dept of Tourism, Culture and Heritage produced the first Creative Nova Scotia event, with the purpose of demonstrating the importance of linking all sectors of society, from health, tourism, education, justice, community development and more to arts and culture. This conference serves to amalgamate a wide range of NS arts awards into a major gala event and a memorable evening that celebrates our rich artistic and cultural talent.
